Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to land in September 2025, and leaks are painting a picture of a significant generational leap. From a periscope telephoto camera to an all-new design language, here’s everything we know.
Design Overhaul
Reliable leakers suggest Apple is ditching the rectangular camera island in favor of a circular “lozenge” module on the back. The frame will reportedly switch from titanium to a new aluminum alloy that’s both lighter and stronger. Expect a thinner profile at just 7.9mm.
Camera Upgrades
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to debut Apple’s first 48MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, putting it on par with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The main camera gets a larger sensor for improved low-light performance, and video recording will support 8K at 24fps.
A19 Pro Chip
Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm+ process, promises a 15-20% CPU boost and a 25% GPU improvement over the A18 Pro. On-device AI capabilities are expected to be significantly enhanced, with new Apple Intelligence features launching alongside.
Display
The ProMotion 120Hz LTPO OLED display stays, but with a rumored boost to 3000 nits peak brightness. The Dynamic Island is getting a slight redesign to accommodate the new front camera array.
Release Date & Price
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 lineup in September 2025. The Pro Max will likely start at $1,199 for the base 256GB model.
