The Spec'd take
Why it stands out
- Runs on anything from E20 to E85 ethanol blends, so it is ready for India's greener pumps as they arrive.
- Hero says E85 brings 7% more power and 3% more torque than the regular 100cc engine, plus far lower CO emissions.
- It is still a Splendor underneath: the same trusted 97.2cc platform, simple to service and easy to live with.
- New digi-analog meter shows the ethanol blend, i3S, side stand and headlamp status, and a USB charger is standard.
- Electric start, i3S idle stop-start and a 5-step adjustable rear suspension come as standard.
Worth knowing
- Costs Rs 82,910, a clear premium over a regular petrol Splendor Plus.
- E85 fuel is still scarce at Indian pumps, so most owners will run it on E20 for now.
- Only one colour, Lime Yellow, and only one version.
- Drum brakes at both ends and halogen lighting are unchanged from the basic Splendor.
- Hero has not published a claimed mileage figure for the flex-fuel version.
