Why it stands out
- 30 kW (40 hp) and a claimed 550 Nm at the rear wheel take it from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.9 seconds, with a 155 km/h top speed.
- Ultraviolette claims 343 km on the IDC cycle for the 11 kWh versions and 227 km for the 7.5 kWh pair, and also quotes Glide mode figures of 275 km and 188 km.
- The two Recon versions add UV Hypersense, a Gen 6 77 GHz radar with rear collision warning, lane change assist, overtake alert and blind-spot detection.
- Ultraviolette pitches it as a crossover: it weighs 180 kg (195 kg with the 11 kWh pack) and has an 820 mm seat and 200 mm of ground clearance for city streets and trails alike.
- Every version except the base Venom carries a 5 year or 1,00,000 km battery and drivetrain warranty, and 8 years or 8,00,000 km is offered as an option.
Worth knowing
- Prices are introductory: the Rs 2.65 lakh to Rs 3.99 lakh starting figures include a Carbon Farewell Fund reduction of up to Rs 35,000 for the first 5,000 buyers, and the final price depends on location.
- The base X-47 Venom has on/off traction control, 3-level regeneration, standard connectivity and no on-board navigation, and cruise control is only an upgrade, so the Rs 50,000 step to the Plus is hard to skip.
- The radar safety suite and dashcam come only on the Recon versions, which start at Rs 3.75 lakh, Rs 1.10 lakh above the base Venom.
- The 11 kWh pack needs 5 hours 30 minutes for a 20 to 80 percent top-up on the standard 1.3 kW or on-board 1.6 kW charger, and the Recon versions weigh 195 kg, 15 kg more than the 7.5 kWh bikes.
