Kia Syros Review: ₹8.40-15.80 Lakh SUV Lost ADAS in 2026, So Which Variant Is Actually Worth Buying?

Kia Syros lost ADAS and the 360-camera in a quiet 2026 update. Real Team-BHP mileage logs, full variant pricing, and the one trim worth buying.

The Kia Syros still starts at ₹8.40 lakh and tops out at ₹15.80 lakh (ex-showroom), but the car you buy today is not the car Kia showed off at launch. In an April 2026 running change, Kia quietly pulled the Level 2 ADAS suite and the 360-degree camera off the entire range, and the variant sheet got a rename nobody asked for. The good news: the compact SUV underneath, with the segment’s best rear seat and a wheelbase longer than the Hyundai Venue’s, is still worth cross-shopping. Skip the top HTX(O) and buy the HTK+ DCT instead, and you will see why below.

Kia Syros Price and Variants in India (August 2026)

Seven trims, two engines, and a manual, DCT or torque-converter automatic depending on which one you pick. Here is the full ex-showroom sheet after Kia’s MY2026 price revision:

VariantPetrol MTPetrol DCTDiesel MTDiesel AT
HTE₹8.40 LN/AN/AN/A
HTE(O)₹9.20 LN/A₹10.00 LN/A
HTK(EX)₹9.80 LN/A₹10.60 LN/A
HTK+₹10.74 L₹11.94 L₹11.54 L₹12.74 L
HTK+(O)₹12.00 L₹13.20 L₹12.80 L₹14.00 L
HTXN/A₹14.00 LN/A₹14.80 L
HTX(O)N/A₹15.00 LN/A₹15.80 L

The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 120hp and 172Nm; the 1.5-litre diesel makes 116hp and 250Nm with more low-end shove. Every variant, even the base HTE, gets 6 airbags and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, so the safety cut Kia made was not in the crash structure.

What Kia Quietly Removed in the April 2026 Update

This is the part every rival’s brochure comparison skips. Kia’s official line is that ADAS and the 360-degree camera were dropped because of customer feedback. CarDekho and V3Cars both called it a step back for a car that built its name on being the feature-loaded option in this price band. If lane-keep assist or a top-down parking camera mattered to you at launch in 2025, know that the 2026 car you actually drive home does not have them, HTX(O) included.

Rear Seat Space for a 6-Foot Passenger

The 2,550mm wheelbase beats the Venue’s and the Nexon’s, and the rear bench gets 75mm of fore-aft slide. Autocar India and evo India both singled out the back seat as class-leading, with knee room that competes with SUVs a segment above. The catch: rear seat cooling only ventilates the seat base, not the backrest, since Kia could not fit a blower unit while keeping the slide-and-recline mechanism. Boot space is 465 litres with the seats slid forward, dropping to 390 litres pushed all the way back, still good for a large suitcase and a duffel.

Claimed Mileage vs What Owners Are Actually Logging

No independent instrumented fuel-economy test from an outlet like Autocar India has been published for the Syros yet. What exists instead is ARAI’s certified figure and real trip logs that Syros owners have posted on Team-BHP’s ownership threads, which is a reasonable proxy but not a controlled test.

1.0 Turbo-petrol DCT17.68 kmpl15.1 kmpl over a 1,464 km highway-and-city trip (Team-BHP owner log)
1.5 Diesel MT20.75 kmpl~16 kmpl at 400 km on the odometer (Team-BHP owner)
1.5 Diesel AT17.65 kmpl~9 kmpl in bumper-to-bumper traffic with the AC on (Team-BHP short-term report)

Read the diesel AT number carefully: that 9 kmpl was a short traffic-heavy stretch, not a full ownership average, and it will climb once the drive is more highway than crawl. The petrol DCT figure is the more useful one since it covers a real mixed 1,464 km trip end to end.

Which Variant Is Actually Worth Buying

Buy the HTK+ with the 7-speed DCT at ₹11.94 lakh. It is the cheapest variant with the panoramic sunroof, cruise control, four disc brakes, paddle shifters and push-button start, and it runs the same turbo-petrol motor as the range-topping HTX(O). The HTX at ₹14.00 lakh adds a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Harman Kardon audio and front ventilated seats, useful in a Chennai or Delhi summer, but that is ₹2.06 lakh for two comfort features, not anything that changes how the car drives or how safe it is. With ADAS gone at every trim, there is no safety case left for paying more.

The panoramic sunroof arrives from the HTK+ trim, ₹11.94 lakh in DCT form.

The HTK+ DCT is the Syros to buy: sunroof and cruise control without paying ₹2 lakh-plus for a screen upgrade and ADAS that isn’t even there anymore.

Three Things That Would Stop Us Recommending It

  • No ADAS, at any price. Kia pulled it in April 2026 across the board, so if a rival like the Hyundai Venue still offers it on a comparable trim, factor that in.
  • Rear seat cooling is base-only. The backrest stays un-ventilated even on the HTX(O), a packaging compromise from the sliding rear bench.
  • Highway ride reports are inconsistent. Some reviewers call the suspension well-sorted for city use, others describe it as unsettled over broken highway surfaces on the petrol’s softer tune, so a proper test drive on your own commute route matters more than usual here.

We compared the Syros head-to-head against its closest rival in our Kia Syros vs Hyundai Venue piece, worth reading if the Venue’s ADAS is the deciding factor; run the two side by side on our Compare tool. For the full spec sheet, see the Kia Syros model page, and check the numbers on the Syros EMI calculator before you book.

Does the Kia Syros have ADAS?

No. Kia removed the Level 2 ADAS suite and the 360-degree camera from the entire Syros range in an April 2026 update, citing customer feedback. This applies even to the top HTX(O) trim.

Which is the best value Kia Syros variant?

The HTK+ with the 7-speed DCT at ₹11.94 lakh. It has the panoramic sunroof, cruise control and disc brakes on all four wheels without paying extra for the HTX’s bigger screen and ventilated seats.

What is the real-world mileage of the Kia Syros?

ARAI rates the turbo-petrol DCT at 17.68 kmpl, but a Team-BHP owner logged 15.1 kmpl over a 1,464 km mixed highway and city trip. No independent instrumented mileage test has been published yet.
