Sarthak Chavan crashed in qualifying at Misano, started both races from the back of the 14-rider grid, and still finished as the top Indian rider at the TVS Racing International Championship’s (TRIC) first-ever European round. He placed seventh in race one and sixth in race two, on the same race-spec TVS Apache RR 310 that sits on Indian showroom floors for ₹2.66-2.88 lakh ex-showroom.
The round ran from 2 to 4 October 2026 at the Misano World Circuit in Italy, alongside the Coppa Italia weekend, and was confirmed by TVS Motor’s own press release along with race reports from Autocar India and Visordown. Fourteen riders from 12 nationalities across four continents raced identical Apache RR 310 machines, and three of them were Indian.

What Actually Happened in the Two Races
Italy’s Cristian Borrelli won both races outright. Among the Indians, Chavan was clearly the strongest, climbing from last on the grid both times. His compatriots had quieter weekends.
| Rider | Race 1 | Race 2 |
| Sarthak Chavan (India) | P7 | P6 |
| Chiranth Vishwanath (India) | P10 | P8 |
| Rakshith Srihari Dave (India) | P11 | P12 |
| Cristian Borrelli (Italy) | P1 | P1 |
Chavan’s results matter more than the finishing order suggests. Starting from the back of a 14-bike grid on a one-make bike, where every machine is mechanically identical, means the only variable left is the rider. Picking off seven places in race one and eight in race two is a genuine recovery, not a consolation finish.
Why TVS Took This Series to Europe
TRIC began in 2022 as an Asia-only series, running rounds in Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia on the Apache RR 310. Misano was its first stop outside Asia, run in partnership with the Coppa Italia calendar. For TVS, it is a way to put its most track-focused road bike in front of European media and buyers without building a new chassis for the job. The next and final round of the season moves to Buriram, Thailand, where TRIC will share a weekend with the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC).

The Bike on the Grid Is the Bike in the Showroom
Unlike a MotoGP or WSBK machine, the TRIC grid runs genuinely close-to-stock Apache RR 310s: same 312.2cc liquid-cooled single making 38 PS, same trellis frame, same slipper clutch. That makes the road-going price list directly relevant to anyone the Misano result excites.
| Variant | Ex-showroom price | What changes |
| Racing Red (no quickshifter) | ₹2,66,190 | Base bike |
| Racing Red | ₹2,83,190 | Adds a bi-directional quickshifter, ₹17,000 more |
| Bomber Grey | ₹2,87,790 | Different paint only |
| Black Diamond Edition | ₹2,87,790 | All-black livery, keyless ride |
Buy the standard Racing Red with the quickshifter. The ₹17,000 step over the base buys a genuinely track-useful part, a clutchless upshift and auto-blip downshift, while Bomber Grey and the Black Diamond Edition charge the same money for paint and keyless entry you will not miss on a sports bike.
On The Spec’d’s on-road price pages, the base variant comes to about ₹3.1 lakh on the road in Mumbai, factoring in Maharashtra’s 12 percent two-wheeler road tax. That same bike works out to roughly ₹26,619 cheaper on the road in Puducherry, the lowest of the 39 cities we price, purely because of how much lighter Puducherry’s road tax is. On a 20 percent down payment and a 3-year loan at 12 percent interest on the Mumbai on-road price, the EMI comes to about ₹8,238 a month.

A one-make grid strips away every excuse except the rider, and that is exactly why Chavan’s climb from last to sixth matters more than his final position does.
What’s Next
The championship wraps up at Buriram, Thailand, where TRIC shares the weekend with the ARRC calendar. No results from that final round exist yet; this article covers only the confirmed Misano round. Whether Chavan can convert Misano’s pace into a podium at the finale is the thing to watch for Indian fans of the series.
What is the TVS Racing International Championship?
It is TVS Motor’s one-make race series, where every rider gets an identical race-spec Apache RR 310. It started in Asia in 2022 and added its first European round at Misano, Italy, in October 2026.
Did an Indian rider win at Misano?
No. Italy’s Cristian Borrelli won both races. Sarthak Chavan was the best-placed Indian, finishing seventh and sixth after starting both races from the back of the grid following a qualifying crash.
How much does the TVS Apache RR 310 cost on the road?
The base Racing Red variant without the quickshifter is ₹2,66,190 ex-showroom, and comes to about ₹3.1 lakh on the road in Mumbai once Maharashtra’s road tax and insurance are added, per The Spec’d’s Apache RR 310 page. The on-road price is lower in states with cheaper two-wheeler road tax.
