Mercedes-Benz Warns It Will Close a German Assembly Plant and Engine Factory Unless Costs Come Down
Sep 22, 2026The Spec'd take
Why it stands out
- Mercedes quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that makes 585 hp in the GT 63 and 612 hp in the PRO, with a top speed of 315 and 317 km/h
- Rear-axle steering (up to 2.5 degrees) and a front-axle lift of up to 30 mm are standard on both versions, which makes a low, wide supercar far easier to live with in Indian traffic and over speed breakers
- The PRO standard list covers ceramic brakes (Rs 11.5 lakh on the GT 63), the Exterior Carbon Package (Rs 7 lakh) and the Aerodynamics Package (Rs 4.5 lakh), roughly Rs 23 lakh of options for Rs 60 lakh more, with extra power as well
- The cabin feels properly modern: a 12.3-inch driver display, an 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen, head-up display, AMG TRACK PACE lap timing and wireless charging are all standard
- A hatchback tailgate with an electric opening and a 321-litre boot gives it more everyday sense than most cars with this much performance
Worth knowing
- At Rs 3.05 crore before options it is a big cheque, and the extras climb fast: Burmester high-end 3D sound is Rs 7.5 lakh, ceramic brakes Rs 11.5 lakh and MANUFAKTUR Green Hell Magno paint Rs 11.5 lakh
- The GT 63 is a two-seater as standard, rear seats are a Rs 2.5 lakh option, and the PRO is offered as a two-seater only
- The Driving Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control is a Rs 3.76 lakh extra rather than standard
- The panoramic roof comes with the cheaper GT 63 but is a Rs 3.5 lakh option on the PRO, which is odd for the pricier car
