Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason Is Selling His One-Off McLaren F1 GTR, and It Could Fetch ₹300 Crore
Aug 14, 2026The Spec'd take
Why it stands out
- 750 PS and 800 Nm from a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8, with McLaren quoting 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 7.3 seconds and 332 km/h flat out, roof up or down
- A one piece carbon fibre hard top folds away in 11 seconds at up to 50 km/h, and the rear glass can drop on its own as a wind deflector with the roof still up
- McLaren says the Carbon Fibre MonoCage II-S keeps the Coupe's torsional rigidity for just 49 kg more, and the 1,326 kg dry weight is 30 kg less than the 720S Spider
- One of the last pure petrol supercars: hydraulic steering, a short final drive and no hybrid system between you and the V8
- Carbon ceramic brakes with a 6 piston front caliper bring it from 100 to 0 km/h in 30 metres and from 200 to 0 km/h in 113 metres
Worth knowing
- Rs 8.78 crore ex-showroom is Rs 84 lakh more than the Coupe (Rs 7.94 crore), and McLaren has no India website, so confirm the price with the retailer: a June 2026 report says McLaren is set to cut India prices by up to Rs 3.3 crore ahead of the India UK trade deal
- Luggage is tight: 150 litres up front and just 58 litres behind the seats, against 210 litres at the rear of the Coupe
- Thirsty: McLaren's WLTP combined figure is 12.2 litres per 100 km (about 8.2 kmpl), and 22 litres per 100 km in the slow city phase
- A strict two seater with no hybrid assistance, and no crash-test rating has been published for it
