Honda Elevate Facelift Review: Buy the ZX, Skip the ZX+

The Elevate facelift's starting price barely moved, but ADAS now begins at the ₹15.39 lakh ZX trim. Here is the variant actually worth buying.

The facelifted Honda Elevate starts at ₹11.80 lakh, the same number Honda used for the outgoing SUV, but that headline is misleading: every trim above the base SV got pricier on October 6, and the safety kit most buyers actually want, Honda Sensing ADAS, still doesn’t show up until the ₹15.39 lakh ZX. Buy the ZX. Skip the ₹16.80 lakh ZX+ unless you specifically want powered seats.

What Actually Changed, Beyond the Headline Price

This is a mid-life update, not a new generation, as we covered when it launched. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is unchanged at 121 PS and 145 Nm, with a 6-speed manual or 7-step CVT. What’s new: rear seat ventilation on the top trim only, front parking sensors, rear disc brakes instead of drums, and adaptive cruise control with a low-speed follow mode that Autocar India and Cars24 both confirm is CVT-only. The grille and tail lights are redesigned; none of it changes how the cabin works day to day.

ZX+₹16.80 Lakh₹18.30 LakhYes, plus powered seats
ZX+ Black Edition₹16.90 Lakh₹18.40 LakhSame as ZX+, cosmetic only

Ex-showroom, India, per Autocar Pro’s launch-day variant table, corroborated by CarWale and Cars24’s coverage of the October 6 launch. The Spec’d’s own Elevate page is still showing the pre-facelift price list as we publish this, so treat the table above as the current word on anything above the SV.

Which Variant Is Actually Worth Buying

Buy the ZX. At ₹15.39 lakh manual or ₹16.89 lakh CVT, it’s the cheapest way into Honda Sensing ADAS, the sunroof, the 10.25-inch touchscreen and ventilated front seats. Most comparison roundups push buyers toward the cheaper VX instead, calling it the “sweet spot.” That advice skips the point: MoRTH’s ADAS mandate for new models, which we covered when it took effect on October 1, is exactly why the feature stopped being a luxury-trim afterthought. If adaptive cruise and forward collision warning genuinely don’t matter to you, the VX CVT at ₹15.39 lakh is the better buy for the same money as the ZX MT. The ₹1.41 lakh step up to the ZX+ buys powered, ventilated rear seats you’ll use twice a year; skip it.

Claimed Mileage vs What You’ll Actually See

Honda’s own facelift launch figures, reported by Autocar India and Cars24, give the CVT a claimed 16.61 kmpl and the manual 15.31 kmpl, both ARAI. The Spec’d’s own Elevate mileage page still lists the pre-facelift CVT figure of 16.92 kmpl, a gap worth flagging rather than hiding. No independent real-world mileage test of the facelift has been published yet; it’s five days old. What is solid: at the claimed CVT figure, the Elevate trails its segment. Hyundai Creta claims 21.8 kmpl, Skoda Kushaq 19.66 kmpl and Renault Duster 19.41 kmpl, all ARAI, per The Spec’d’s own rival comparison on the same page.

What the Base Variant Costs on the Road

CityOn-Road Price, SV MTRoad Tax
Surat (cheapest of 39 cities)₹13.08 Lakh6%
Mumbai₹13.80 Lakh12%
Visakhapatnam (priciest)₹14.57 Lakh18.7%

That’s a ₹1.49 lakh gap between the cheapest and priciest of the 39 cities The Spec’d prices, almost entirely down to road tax. SV MT is the one variant where our pricing still matches Honda’s new figures exactly; trims from V upward have moved and our on-road numbers haven’t caught up, so we’re not quoting them. On the Mumbai on-road price, The Spec’d’s EMI calculator works out to about ₹23,179 a month at 20% down over 5 years, ₹18,038 over 7 years, or ₹35,354 over 3.

The Honest Flaws

Three things to know before you book:

  • ADAS is gated behind two full trims. If safety tech matters to you, and after October’s ADAS mandate it should, you’re paying at least ₹15.39 lakh, not the ₹11.80 lakh the headline advertises.
  • No India crash test exists for this generation. The closest data point is the Japan-market twin, sold there as the WR-V, which scored 5 stars in JNCAP testing in 2024, per The Spec’d’s own Elevate records.
  • It’s petrol-only. No diesel, no hybrid, no CNG, while rivals like the Grand Vitara and Creta now offer strong-hybrid options that claim well over 25 kmpl.

How It Stacks Up Against the Obvious Rival

The natural cross-shop is the Hyundai Creta, which beats it on mileage and offers a turbo-petrol and diesel the Elevate doesn’t. The Elevate’s case is Honda’s reliability name and the LaneWatch blind-spot camera, genuinely unusual at this price.

The ZX is the facelift’s actual sweet spot: it’s the cheapest way to get the safety kit that’s about to become table stakes in India, and everything above it is comfort you’re paying a real premium for.

Which Honda Elevate facelift variant should I buy?

The ZX. At ₹15.39 lakh (manual) or ₹16.89 lakh (CVT) it’s the cheapest trim with Honda Sensing ADAS, a sunroof and ventilated front seats. The VX is only worth it if you’re certain you don’t want ADAS.

Does the Honda Elevate facelift have ADAS on every variant?

No. Honda Sensing ADAS starts at the ZX trim. The SV, V and VX, which together cover the ₹11.80 lakh to ₹15.39 lakh range, don’t get it at all.

What is the on-road price of the Honda Elevate facelift in Mumbai?

The base SV MT comes to about ₹13.80 lakh on the road in Mumbai, on The Spec’d’s city price page. Higher trims cost more on the road, but our city pages haven’t updated to Honda’s new October pricing for them yet.
