Maruti Ertiga vs Toyota Rumion (2026): Is Toyota’s ₹75,200 Premium Worth It?
Oct 5, 2026The Spec'd take
Why it stands out
- Nothing else new in India gives you this much boxy, flat floor space for around Rs 5.3 lakh, and the sliding rear doors make loading people and stuff a doddle.
- The safety kit has grown up: 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD and a reverse parking sensor are standard on every passenger version.
- The factory S-CNG version is rated at 26.78 km/kg, so running costs stay tiny for heavy daily use.
- The 1.2 litre K12N engine is a proven Maruti unit, and Maruti's service network reaches practically everywhere.
- Pick 5 seats with a big cargo area behind, or the 6 seater for extra bums on seats.
Worth knowing
- Global NCAP gave an older Eeco without airbags 0 stars for adults (2016), and the current car has not been retested
- Basic cabin: no audio system, no power windows and no central locking in any version.
- Air conditioning is only on the 5 Seater AC versions; both Standard versions make do with a heater and fans.
- Tall, narrow and on skinny 13 inch tyres, so it is happiest at city speeds rather than on fast highways.
- No automatic gearbox, and the CNG option comes only with the 5 Seater AC.
