Kia’s ₹1.7 Lakh Offer Isn’t on the Seltos or Sonet

Kia's October offers top out at ₹1.7 lakh on the Carnival. The Seltos and Sonet, its real best-sellers, get far less, and only with conditions attached.

Kia is advertising up to ₹1.7 lakh off in October 2026, but that figure belongs to the Carnival, a ₹27-33 lakh MPV that sells in the low hundreds each month. The Seltos and Sonet, the two models that actually move Kia’s India volumes, get a fraction of that, and most of what they do get comes with conditions most buyers won’t meet.

Here is every model’s real October offer, broken down by what kind of benefit it is and who actually qualifies, cross-checked against Autocar India and Auto Punditz’s dealer-sourced figures.

Neither source lists an end date for these offers. Festive-season dealer schemes typically run through Diwali and get revised without much notice, so confirm the live figure with your dealer before booking, and treat every “up to” number here as a ceiling, not a guarantee.

Why the Seltos Barely Moves the Needle

The Seltos, India’s best-selling Kia and one of the most-searched SUVs in the country, has no cash discount and no exchange bonus this month. Its entire ₹40,000 figure is ₹20,000 loyalty, meaning you already own a Kia, plus ₹20,000 scrappage, meaning you’re junking an old vehicle through a certified facility. A first-time buyer trading in a Maruti or Hyundai gets nothing extra at all. That is a genuinely weak festive offer on Kia’s highest-volume model, and it’s worth knowing before you walk into a showroom expecting a discount.

The Sonet’s Real Discount Lives on One Variant

The ₹65,000 headline for the Sonet only fully applies to the 1.2-litre petrol HTK(O), and only ₹15,000 of it is a straight cash discount. On The Spec’d’s own Mumbai on-road price page, that variant is priced at ₹8.89 lakh ex-showroom, ₹10.33 lakh on the road. Every other Sonet variant, including the diesel and the turbo-petrol, tops out at ₹50,000, built almost entirely from exchange and scrappage money that needs an old car to trade in.

What the Carnival’s ₹1.7 Lakh Actually Buys

The Carnival’s number looks the biggest because the car is the most expensive, not because Kia is being generous. ₹1 lakh of it is an exchange bonus, meaning you need a vehicle to trade in, and ₹50,000 more is a corporate benefit that only applies if your employer is on Kia’s empanelled list. Strip those out and a walk-in retail buyer with nothing to trade is really looking at ₹20,000, the scrappage portion, same as the much cheaper Seltos.

What the Seltos and Sonet Actually Cost This Month

Offers aside, here’s what the two volume models actually cost on the road in Mumbai right now, on The Spec’d’s city price pages, with an EMI worked on that on-road figure at 20 percent down over five years at 9.5 percent interest.

VariantEx-showroomOn-road, MumbaiEst. EMI
Seltos HTE Petrol MT (base)₹11.25 lakh₹13.15 lakhabout ₹22,095/month
Sonet HTE Petrol MT (base)₹7.45 lakh₹8.68 lakhabout ₹14,584/month

The Sonet also swings by city. Puducherry is the cheapest of the 39 cities The Spec’d prices it in, at ₹8.15 lakh on the road, ₹52,911 less than Mumbai, almost entirely down to road tax. These are estimates and vary by insurer and RTO notification, so confirm the exact figure with your dealer before booking.

Which Kia Offer Is Actually Worth Chasing

If you’re cross-shopping, the Sonet’s HTK(O) petrol is the one real cash deal in Kia’s October lineup this month, worth looking at alongside the rest of the compact SUVs under ₹15 lakh. The Seltos buyer trading in an old car from another brand should not expect the offer to move the price much; that fight is really about the car itself against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, not about who’s running the bigger festive banner this month.

Kia’s biggest October number sits on the car fewest people are buying. On the Seltos and Sonet, the real discount is smaller, and most of it needs a trade-in you may not have.

Does the Kia Seltos get a cash discount in October 2026?

No. Its ₹40,000 maximum benefit is entirely loyalty (existing Kia owners) and scrappage (trading in an old vehicle through a certified facility). There is no direct cash discount or exchange bonus this month.

Which Kia Sonet variant gets the full ₹65,000 offer?

Only the 1.2-litre petrol HTK(O). Other Sonet variants, including the diesel and turbo-petrol engines, are capped at ₹50,000, and none of them include the ₹15,000 cash component.

Do Kia’s October offers include the corporate discount for everyone?

No. The corporate benefit, up to ₹50,000 on the Carnival and up to ₹15,000 on most other models, applies only to employees of companies on Kia’s empanelled list. Most retail buyers won’t qualify for it.
